Even though Liverpool have managed to keep a clean sheet in all of their three previous games across all competitions against Arsenal, FC Porto and Southampton, the Reds have managed to concede more goals in the league than Chelsea and Manchester City.

With the upcoming January transfer window on the horizon, it seems as though the club could be in danger of losing one of their defensive players after Football Insider reported that West Ham United are interested in making a move to sign Nat Phillips.

Even though Phillips has only made two senior appearances for Liverpool so far this season, the club should have no plans to allow the defender to join West Ham in January.

Given how he ended up as Liverpool’s second-highest rated player in the Premier League last season with an overall performance rating of 7.29/10 according to WhoScored, Phillips certainly proved himself to everyone at the Merseyside club that he is more than capable of playing for them at a high level.

In addition to his impressive overall performances in the league last season, the central defender also managed to rack up an average of 4.8 clearances per game, 1.3 tackles per game and 1.2 interceptions per game, highlighting his defensive talents.

Labelled as a “monster” for his efforts in the team last season by Klopp, it’s a shame that Phillips, who is currently valued at £7.2m according to Transfermarkt, has not been given the opportunity to shine once again this time out.

As a result of his impressive season, Liverpool offered the 24-year-old a long-term deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2025.

Taking this into account, it would seem rather silly for the Reds to let Phillips go in January after giving him a renewed contract just a few months ago.

With this in mind, it could be in everyone’s best interest if Jurgen Klopp starts to give Phillips some regular game time to make it clear that he is a valued member of the squad that has what it takes to be a long-term option for them in the future.

Furthermore, with Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip now at the age of 30, Klopp could save Liverpool millions by unleashing Phillips once again. Cementing his place in the team could swerve Michael Edwards and co from hunting European shores for a pricey replacement.

Veteran seamer Richardson claimed the first hat-trick of his career and Sri Lankan Samaraweera hit an unbeaten 99 as Worcestershire closed the second day nine runs ahead of the hosts.With 38-year-old Richardson taking their last three wickets in three balls, Leicestershire were bowled out for 274, having added only four runs to their overnight score. Then, despite losing their first three wickets for 55 runs, Worcestershire recovered to close the second day on 265 for 5, with Samaraweera one run away from completing his second century against Leicestershire this season.There was another excellent innings as well from 19-year-old Tom Fell, who earlier this month signed a two-year professional contract with Worcestershire. أسفرت قرعة التصفيات المؤهلة لكأس أمم إفريقيا 2024 للسيدات، المقرر إقامتها بالمغرب، عن وقوع المنتخب الوطني في مواجهة منتخب جنوب السودان، بالدور التمهيدي في التصفيات.

وتقام التصفيات على مرحلتين، حيث يواجه كل منتخب، مواجهتين ذهابا وإيابا، ويتأهل الفائز إلى المرحلة التالية لمواجهة منتخب جديد ليتحدد بطاقة التأهل لأمم إفريقيا.

ومن المقرر أن يتواجه الفائزان من مواجهتي المنتخب الوطني مع جنوب السودان، والسنغال مع موزمبيق، مع بعضهما البعض، لتحديد المتأهل إلى أمم إفريقيا للسيدات.

يذكر أن المشاركة الأخيرة لمنتخب السيدات في أمم إفريقيا، كانت ببطولة 2016 والتي أقيمت بالكاميرون.

وخلال تصريحات لـ”إي إس بي إن” نشرها موقع “ليفربول إيكو” سابقا، قال اللاعب: “بالطبع، قرأت كل ما كتب عني، أنا على اتصال جيد بوكيل أعمالي، لذلك أعرف ما يحدث”.

He will miss the crucial tri-series match against Sri Lanka on Sunday.West Indies were ruled one over short of the target at the end of match against India in Port-of-Spain for which the match referee, Jeff Crowe, fined Bravo 20% of his match fee and his team members, 10% of their match fees.”The captains were informed of their respective positions relating to over-rate breaches before the start of the series,” Crowe said. “On Friday, the umpires had kept Dwayne [Bravo] informed throughout the innings about the position regarding over-rates, and more so when his side fell behind.”The charge was laid by on-field umpires Nigel Llong and Peter Nero, as well as third umpire Nigel Duguid and fourth umpire Joel Wilson, with Bravo pleading guilty.It was the second such offence for Bravo after he was fined for a slow over-rate during the Champions Trophy match against South Africa on June 14.Virat Kohli was also slapped with a similar fine after India’s match against Sri Lanka in Kingston.

After waiting two years for a hundred, it seemed fitting the Yorkshire captain would bring up his second in the hyperbolic city of multiple buses.Within 91 minutes of coming together, the pair had already put on 102 runs (roughly equating to 204 runs in one session) which leaves Yorkshire the more comfortable of the two sides going into the final two days.Rashid has been enjoying an exceptional run of form since coming in to the side after injury to his good friend Azeem Rafiq. He was fortuitous today when, without a run to his name, Neil Dexter put him down at slip – his third drop in two games at this position – but he continued on with some exceptional shots.He drove Tim Murtagh down the ground twice with great aplomb, before his wrists did the talking with a flick through midwicket that was timed to perfection. If the on drive is a sign of a high class batsman, the flick through midwicket is the neon beacon of an in-form one.”I’ve always had good wrists,” Rashid tells ESPNcricinfo. It’s an Asian thing, he tells us – and we’re inclined to agree – but it is something he has had to actively work at curbing to excel.”I think before I relied on them a bit too much to score my runs. I certainly used to throw my hands at wide deliveries quite a lot and look for shots that weren’t really there. A taste of international cricket as jet-setting drinks carrier and then, belatedly, a limited overs player whetted the appetite but left more confusion than a greater sense of worth: “You’re around the team, then you’re in, then you’re out – it’s not the easiest thing to deal with when you’re 21, you know?”But a winter of focus and a heightened sense of responsibility has abetted more relaxed mind-set for Rashid.”Before I was quite tense because I didn’t really have a routine,” Rashid explained. “Previous seasons I would have batted at No. 7, 8 or even further down and probably obsessed more over my batting if I had a few bad knocks. Now I’m going in as a proper batsmen and it makes you approach things differently.”Such an approach was evident when Rashid returned from lunch and, essentially, sacrificed himself in pursuit of a fourth batting point in the 110th over. But his dismissal handed Middlesex a third point for their bowling exploits. O momento é de consternação total no mundo do futebol com o trágico incidente ocorrido no Centro de Treinamento do Flamengo na manhã dessa sexta-feira (8) que vitimou 10 pessoas e deixou outras três feridas. Quando tenta, não consegue, tem a frustração, mas ser interrompido é difícil. Morei muito tempo no mesmo lugar, sempre vivi muito bem lá, mas é lamentável.

أكد وليد العطار، المدير التنفيذي لاتحاد الكرة المصري، أن هناك تنسيقا كاملا مع الأهلي والجهات الأمنية من أجل تحقيق مطلب القلعة الحمراء بتواجد السعة الكاملة للجماهير في استاد القاهرة أمام الوداد المغربي.

ومن المقرر أن يلاقي الأهلي نظيره الوداد المغربي، يوم 4 من شهر يونيو المقبل في ذهاب نهائي دوري أبطال إفريقيا هذا العام 2023.

وقال العطار خلال تصريحات عبر قناة “أون تايم سبورت” لبرنامج “ملعب أون تايم”: “يوجد تنسيق كامل، مع الأهلي والاتحاد الإفريقي بشأن المباراة النهائية لدوري أبطال إفريقيا”.

وأضاف: “طلبنا الأمن بتواجد السعة الكاملة للجماهير أمام الوداد، وننتظر الرد”، مشيراً إلى أنه لا يوجد قرار صدر حتى الآن بعدد الجماهير المقرر حضورها”.
