Brian Lara has tipped West Indies batsman Darren Bravo for greatness but also warned him that he will now be targeted by teams. Bravo, who is frequently compared to Lara for the way he bats, has scored three centuries in his previous four Tests – one in Bangladesh and two in India – and Lara said there would be more.”We haven’t won any Test matches in India but I still believe that the young players have done a great job,” Lara said. “[Kraigg] Brathwaite, [Adrian] Barath, [Kirk] Edwards and Bravo, of course, they don’t even have 50 Test matches between them but they all look very good. Bravo seems to go from strength to strength. It took a bit of time before he got his first hundred, but now he’s had a taste of it and he’s going to carry on.”He’s got to understand now that a lot of the opposition will start looking at him – the Australians, the English – because he’s now a recognised player, and he will come under a bit of pressure. Hopefully, he has the maturity to come out of it.”Bravo’s 136 against India at Eden Gardens gave him the same run aggregate and average as Lara had after 12 Tests (941 runs at 47.05). أعلنت لجنة التحكيم في كرة القدم الإنجليزية، أن الحكم لي ماسون سيرحل عن منصبه، ولن يكون مسؤولًا عن أي مباراة في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز بعد الآن.

وكان لي ماسون مثار للأحاديث في الأيام القليلة الماضية بسبب الخطأ الفادح الذي وقع فيه خلال مباراة آرسنال وبرينتفورد، في بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي يوم السبت الماضي.

وتعادل الفريقان بهدف لمثله، وسمحت تقنية الفيديو باحتساب هدف تعادل برينتفورد الذي سجله إيفان توني رغم وجود حالة تسلل على زميله كريستيان نورجارد.

واتضح فيما بعد أن لي ماسون، حكم تقنية الفيديو المسؤول في تلك المباراة، قد تناسى وضع خطوط التسلل عند تحليل هدف إيفان توني، لتقدم لجنة التحكيم اعتذارها فيما حدث.

ووفقًا لبيان رسمي، فإن لي ماسون لم يعد جزءًا من لجنة التحكيم الإنجليزية، ومن ثم لن يكون مسؤولًا عن أي مباراة في الدوري الإنجليزي بعد الآن.

وأوضحت اللجنة في بيانها أن لي ماسون سيرحل عن منصبه بعد التوصل إلى اتفاق مع المسؤولين، بالتراضي.

وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن لي ماسون كان حكمًا في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، على مدار 15 عامًا، وأشرف على 287 مباراة في البطولة خلال تلك الفترة.

ولم يعد لي ماسون حكم ساحة بعد موسم 2020/21، ليصبح مسؤولًا عن تقنية الفيديو بعد ذلك.

O Cruzeiro rescindiu o contrato com o zagueiro equatoriano Kunty Caicedo. A informação foi noticiada pela rádio Itatiaia e confirmada pelo LANCE!. A rescisão aconteceu na noite da última terça-feira. O atleta estava emprestado ao Barcelona do Equador e voltou a Belo Horizonte para resolver sua situação com a Raposa.

O contrato de Caicedo era vigente até 2021, mas o clube preferiu liberá-lo, sem demonstrar interesse em manter vínculos com o jogador. O zagueiro chegou ao Cruzeiro em 2016, na administração de Gilvan Pinho Tavares. O clube havia se comprometido a pagar uma quantia de 1,6 milhão de dólares, por 60% de seus direitos econômicos. O valor, no entanto, não foi completamente pago, e o Independiente Del Valle acionou a Raposa na FIFA, cobrando US$ 3,33 milhões (R$ 10,8 milhões).

Caicedo atuou apenas em 24 partidas pela equipe celeste. Nesses jogos, o zagueiro acumulou quatro cartões amarelos e nenhum gol. Na vida pessoal, o atleta viveu um drama familiar. Andre Russell and Shawn Findlay have said that a lack of unity in the Jamaica team cost them the Caribbean T20 final against Trinidad & Tobago. Russell, the West Indies fast-bowling allrounder, said the players did not behave professionally because they were playing as individuals rather than as a team.”As a team it is about sticking together and we are kind of lacking in that department at the moment,” Russell told the . “It’s not professional for players to go on the field and some are doing one thing and some are doing another. We need to work together more as a team and if we can do that then just like how we win the other tournaments we can win the T20 as well.”Jamaica are the current champions in West Indies’ first-class and domestic 50-over competitions, and beat T&T easily in the Regional Super50 tournament final in October 2011; but they were thrashed by the same team in the Caribbean T20 final, which also cost them a place in the lucrative Champions League T20. Findlay, the Jamaica batsman, said the reversal in fortunes was due to division in the team.”The team spirit was not the best,” Findlay said. “Some of the players were not pulling for each other as we wanted it to be. We are not unified as we should be. On match days you tend to have one set of players pulling to one side and the others to a next. You’re never going to win a tournament like that.”When we won the Super50 tournament everybody was gelling together. We know we can win Twenty20 tournaments if we get to gel, as it is the gelling and chemistry that teams like Trinidad have over us.”David Bernard, the Jamaica captain, was less scathing of the team and said what was needed was more practice playing Twenty20 cricket. “A better preparation period, including the playing of more Twenty20 competitions and matches going into the next tournament, will go a long way towards helping us to get better,” Bernard said. “But to do this more resources are needed and one can only hope that the Jamaican Cricket Association can get the support from corporate Jamaica to do this going forward.”
