Lange targeting record-breaker with £35m release clause as Tottenham plan bid

Tottenham transfer chief Johan Lange has his eyes on a “very rare” forward who’s just broken a 52-year record, with the club expected to go for a new attacker and centre-back in the January window.

Tottenham expected to make two January signings to back Thomas Frank

Spurs boss Thomas Frank has made a solid start to his reign overall, despite some concerns from supporters over their displays against lesser sides they’re expected to beat.

Going into their gritty 2-1 win at Elland Road prior to the international break, which ended Leeds United’s year-long unbeaten run at home in the league, the Lilywhites had just escaped Bodo/Glimt with an undeserved share of the spoils after being largely dominated by the Norwegian minnows.

They were also forced to come back and rescue draws against struggling Brighton and Wolves in their last two Premier League matches, but these results also taught us that the north Londoners are beginning to display a real resilience to crumbling that almost entirely evaded them last season.

This was evident against Leeds on a very rainy afternoon where the boisterous home crowd piled pressure on Frank’s side, but goals from summer signings Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus sealed a hard-fought three points for Spurs after Noah Okafor’s brief equaliser.

All the signs so far suggest that, while Tottenham are still a work in progress, they could have a bright future under Frank if the Dane is sufficiently backed in the transfer market.

Spurs did just that in the summer, even if they did fail to sign another wide player and centre-back after late summer links with Man City duo Savinho and Manuel Akanji, who’s since joined Inter Milan on loan with a buy option.

Savinho has just penned a new contract as well, ending all hope of Spurs striking a mid-season deal for the Brazilian.

However, it is believed that Lange and the recruitment team are still looking to bolster Frank’s wide area and the centre of Tottenham’s defence (TEAMtalk) — coming after suggestions that ENIC and the Lewis family could pump more money into the club for transfers and wages (Kaveh Solhekol).

Tottenham target Rayan breaks 52-year record as Lange plans bid

One of their reported attacking targets is Vasco de Gama sensation Rayan, who is viewed as one of Brazil’s rising star prospects.

The 19-year-old has scored 14 goals in all competitions across the Brazilian domestic campaign so far, and according to O Gol, his recent brace in a 4-3 win over Vitoria made history.

Rayan has now become the youngest Vasco player to reach 10 goals in the Brazilian top flight since Dinamite in 1973, and if he continues on this current trajectory, it’s surely only a matter of time before the Premier League beckons.

According to other recent reports from South America, Tottenham are expected to make an offer for Rayan, who has a £35 million release clause in his contract, with Spurs also sending scouts to watch over the teenager as he continues to impress.

Vasco manager Fernando Diniz has already made emphatic claims about the versatile attacker’s game-changing ability, sending a message that could perk the ears of supporters.

Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray could be joined by another unstoppable youngster, but the tantalising exit clause in his deal will also have other elite sides taking notice.

Dream Colwill fix: BlueCo prepare bid to sign £43m "beast" for Chelsea

What was shaping up to be a perfect pre-season for Chelsea took a bit of a hit last week.

In a statement on Thursday morning, the club confirmed that defender Levi Colwill had sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury and had undergone surgery as a result.

The Englishman is now set to miss most, if not all, of the upcoming campaign, which is a massive blow for Enzo Maresca considering how well he played towards the end of last season.

Fortunately, with the transfer window still open, it looks like the West Londoners have identified someone who could be the perfect replacement.

Chelsea target perfect Colwill replacement

It’s been another busy summer of spending and selling for Chelsea this year.

Transfer Focus

Mega money deals, controversial moves and big-name flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across Football FanCast.

For example, the club made a tidy profit on Noni Madueke and finally shifted Kepa Arrizabalaga, with both going to Arsenal, while bringing in an array of seriously exciting youngsters like Jamie Gittens, Jorrel Hato, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.

On top of that, they continue to be linked with Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho, and now with Colwill out, appear to be targeting another exciting defender.

At least that is according to a recent report from Spain, which has claimed Chelsea are very interested in Piero Hincapié.

Although it sounds like the club have already moved beyond mere interest, as the report claims they’ve already prepared an offer worth €50m for the centre-back, which converts to about £43m.

It remains to be seen whether Bayer Leverkusen will accept such an offer, but given Hincapié’s ability and potential, plus the injury to Colwill, Chelsea should do all they can to wrap this potential transfer up as soon as possible.

Why Hincapié would be the perfect Colwill replacement

There will likely be a section of the fanbase who argue that Hato could and should be the solution to this problem for Chelsea this season, and while it’s an argument that makes sense, it’s not one we agree with.

Jorrel Hato

This season is going to be a massively important one for Maresca and his squad, one in which fans will expect them to at last challenge for the title, and so starting a 19-year-old with no experience in a top-five league feels too risky for the club and the Dutchman’s development.

This brings us to the first, and arguably the most crucial, reason why Hincapie would be the perfect replacement for Colwill: his experience.

Despite still being relatively young for a centre-back, the 23-year-old titan has a proven track record at the top level.

For example, at club level, the “absolute beast,” as journalist Antonio Mango dubbed him, has made 115 appearances in the Bundesliga, 26 in the Europa League, 14 in the Champions League and eight in the DFB Pokal since moving to Europe.

Moreover, he was a key member of the Leverkusen team that won the league and cup double undefeated a couple of seasons ago.

Then, if that wasn’t enough, the “sensational” ace, as dubbed by one analyst, has also won 46 senior caps for Ecuador, with nine of them coming in the Copa América and three in the World Cup.

Piero Hincapie in action for Bayer Leverkusen

Another benefit to this is that he’s already got a well-established partnership and understanding with Moises Caicedo, which would make settling in at Stamford Bridge far easier.

Ultimately, losing Colwill is a massive blow, but thanks to his vast experience and history of winning things, Hincapie could be the perfect solution for Chelsea.

Jackson upgrade: Newcastle line up "proper No.9" as £60m Samu alternative

Newcastle United rode into the summer transfer window on the crest of a wave, but the Magpies faithful have since been left with misgivings after wretched fortunes in the market.

So many transfer targets have been missed, and now, the all-inspiring talisman that is Alexander Isak is pushing to sign for Premier League champions Liverpool.

Though Newcastle lost the race against Manchester United for Benjamin Sesko, with a £73m deal agreed with RB Leipzig, there is still an impetus on Eddie Howe’s part to sign a high-level number nine this month.

Newcastle planning to sign a striker

The Athletic’s David Ornstein revealed on Friday that FC Porto striker Samu Aghehowa has emerged as a leading contender to improve Newcastle’s frontline this summer, albeit with talks of offers merely abstract things right now.

Samu Aghehowa at the Club World Cup.

The truth is that Newcastle are chasing a number of targets, with Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson another to have emerged as an option.

However, the Senegalese international has been priced at an extortionate £80m, and though Chelsea might be inclined to drop that valuation, the 24-year-old has shown over two years in the Premier League that he is very much the unfinished article.

The list doesn’t end there. According to the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope, Newcastle are considering a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Jørgen Strand Larsen, though the Norwegian has a lofty price tag of his own, coming in at roughly £60m.

This is no small sum, but Howe might be inclined to prioritise a bid for the 25-year-old, who has more in his locker than Chelsea’s Jackson.

Why Newcastle should sign Strand Larsen

Wolves signed Strand Larsen on loan from Spanish side Celta Vigo last summer, sealing the forward on a permanent deal at the end of the 2024/25 season.

FFC Graphic Strand Larsen

Though the Old Gold ebbed and flowed throughout the season, ultimately finding form under Vitor Pereira’s wing, Strand Larsen proved a success at the front of the ship, reliable and consistent in front of goal, notably posting seven goals and two assists across nine matches to see the year out.

This red-hot form is something Newcastle could do with, for sure, and it’s this which suggests he could be the better pick than Jackson, who has struggled for fluidity in the Premier League.

Jackson has his strengths, but his dynamic athleticism doesn’t do enough to place him above a clinical force like Strand Larsen, not when he’s missed 43 big chances across his two Premier League terms, only scoring 24 times in total.

Strand Larsen is not just more clinical in front of goal, but more economical too. Indeed, as the graphic earlier reveals, he hit the target more times per 90 than any other Premier League striker last season. As analyst Ben Mattinson noted, he’s simply a “proper No.9” in every sense.

Jackson might be more mobile and more dynamic, but the Norway international has proved himself as a prolific outlet, with a creative side too, for a team competing toward the lower end of the English top flight.

Howe’s system is steeped in swift, transitional tactics, but it needs a reliable focal point to finish off the chances created by Anthony Gordon, Anthony Elanga and the like.

Such speedy wingers would be perfect for a number nine like Strand Larsen, whose skill at being a “nuisance” for defenders, as remarked by Toon legend Alan Shearer, would see him prove a better signing than the wasteful Jackson.

£265k-per-week Arsenal star approves exit as club prepare bid after talks

Arsenal have officially announced the signing of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, taking sporting director Andrea Berta’s summer spending past the £200 million mark – which means exits could be necessary.

Arsenal prepared to bid £55m for star, four-year contract at the ready too

Andrea Berta is swiftly moving on to his next target after Viktor Gyokeres.

ByEmilio Galantini Jul 26, 2025

Gyokeres has joined the Gunners for an initial fee of around £55 million, a number that could rise to £64 million with add-ons (The Athletic), after the Sweden international travelled to London this weekend for a medical.

The 27-year-old’s 54 goals in all competitions last season suggests that Gyokeres could be worth every penny if all goes to plan, with the lack of a prolific number nine long viewed as the missing piece of Mikel Arteta’s jigsaw.

However, following their deals for Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera on top of Gyokeres, Berta has now spent hundreds of millions on reinforcing Arteta’s squad.

If Arsenal manage to sign Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze too, with the Eagles reportedly holding out for his £68 million release clause, the north Londoners could end this transfer window spending closer to £300 million.

Taking this into account, and the fact Arsenal currently boast the third-highest wage bill in the Premier League, Berta’s next priority is sealing some departures as well as potentially striking an agreement for Eze.

With PSR lingering in the background, top flight clubs are only permitted a loss of around £105 million over a rolling three-year period. If Arsenal surpass this limit, they face sanctions.

So far, there have been no indications that the club are in any real danger of this, but Berta still needs to monitor the club’s revenues/spending.

Gabriel Jesus gives green-light to leave Arsenal as Flamengo prepare offer

According to South American news outlet RTI Esporte, Flamengo have held talks with striker Gabriel Jesus, and they’re preparing to make an audacious loan-to-buy bid for the Brazilian.

Jesus has apparently gave the “green light” to negotiate a move to Flamengo, and if a move materialises, the clubs would split his £265,000-per-week wages 50/50. Flamengo’s interest comes despite the former Man City star’s lengthy lay-off, with Jesus currently out of action after sustaining an ACL rupture in Arsenal’s FA Cup defeat to Man United last season.

With Gyokeres arriving, the 28-year-old will have to compete with both Arsenal’s new signing and Kai Havertz for a place up front once he returns to full fitness, so a temporary move away could suit all parties as Arsenal look to trim their salary books.

Jesus enjoyed a purple patch of form under Arteta last season – grabbing six goals and an assist in all competitions from early December to January after a lot of criticism – with his injury coming at an extremely unfortunate time.

Everton make contact to beat Man Utd in race for "strong" South American

Following the arrival of Mark Travers, Everton have reportedly made their first move to sign a South American star ahead of Premier League rivals Manchester United.

Travers "extremely proud" to be an Everton player

Becoming Everton’s third signing of the summer following the earlier arrival of Carlos Alcaraz and Thierno Barry, Travers is likely to act as a replacement for Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia by becoming David Moyes’ new No.2 behind Jordan Pickford. Whilst the Irishman won’t steal the same headlines as Barry and Alcaraz, the depth that he will add should prove important in its own right.

Speaking for the first time since putting pen to paper, the former Bournemouth shot-stopper said: “I’m extremely proud and excited to be an Everton player. Coming in, you can feel how big this club is and the history that comes with it. You really feel that with the fanbase, the new stadium now as well and the direction the Club is going in.

“It’s a fresh start for me to come up here and try a new chapter in my career. It’s a really exciting time to be part of this massive football club and I just can’t wait to get going.”

Travers was also full of praise for Pickford, who he will be deputising, saying: “Jordan [Pickford] is an outstanding goalkeeper for Club and country. I’m looking forward to competing with everyone here and being a Premier League player.”

David Moyes wants to add some more attacking quality at Everton this summer.

ByAngus Sinclair Jul 15, 2025

That said, the goalkeeper may have more than just Pickford to compete against. According to recent reports, the Toffees could yet welcome another goalkeeper before the summer transfer window comes to an end.

Everton make contact to sign John Victor

As reported by O Dia and relayed by Goodison News, Everton have now made their first enquiry to sign John Victor from Botafogo this summer. The Brazilian goalkeeper has also attracted interest from both Aston Villa and Manchester United, but Everton will be hoping to send a statement to their rivals by securing his signature.

Whilst another goalkeeper after Travers could hand Moyes an unnecessary headache, Victor proved his worth at the Club World Cup this summer as part of a Botafogo side who defeated Paris Saint-Germain before eventually exiting the competition at the last 16 stage.

Botafogo'sJohnVictormakes a save against Palmeiras' Bruno Fuchs

Praised for his “strong underlying shot-stopping metrics” by The Athletic, Victor would instantly hand Travers a problem at The Hill Dickinson Stadium as both goalkeepers compete for a place behind Pickford.

Whether the Friedkin Group push on with their move to sign the Brazilian is the big question. They’ve already signed Travers and there are other priorities within Moyes’ squad as the Premier League season closes in.

Although squad depth is key, the Toffees may be better off looking to welcome midfield additions rather than another goalkeeper this summer, despite how talented Victor is.

All 20 Premier League club owners ranked by net worth (poorest to richest)

The Premier League has some hugely wealthy owners in its ranks, but who comes out on top out of the 20 clubs when it comes to net worth?

Since its inception in 1992, the Premier League has grown into the best and most famous league in world football, proving to be the envy of so many divisions across the globe.

Some of the best footballers on the planet have plied their trade in England’s top flight, and numerous clubs have gone on to win the Champions League down the years, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City.

All 20 Premier League managers' salaries (lowest to highest)

How much each Premier League gaffer earns.

ByCharlie Smith Oct 21, 2025

There is a huge gap in wealth between the clubs fighting for relegation and those going for the biggest prizes, however, with the latter afforded the luxury of being able to spend vast sums of money on players. The question is: which team has the richest owners currently when it comes to net worth?

20 Alan Pace net worth – £190m Burnley

Starting the countdown are Burnley, with owner Alan Pace in charge since 2018, helping the Clarets make a swift return to the Premier League after their relegation in 2021/22 and again in 2024/25.

It is stated that his current net worth is around £190m.

19 Matthew Benham net worth – £220m Brentford

Brentford feel like one of the best-run clubs in the Premier League, spending within their means and building a superb new stadium, and much of that is down to the brilliance of owner Matthew Benham.

The 57-year-old also owns Danish side FC Midtjylland and is renowned for making his fortune through companies such as Matchbook and Smartodds.

18 Tony Bloom net worth – £1.3bn Brighton & Hove Albion

Like Brentford, there is something that feels seamless about the manner in which Brighton operate on a daily basis, and owner Tony Bloom deserves a huge amount of praise for that.

He is a lifelong Seagulls supporter and acquired the club way back in 2009, leading them all the way to the Premier League and making them an established top-flight club.

17 Kyril Louis-Dreyfus net worth – £2bn Sunderland

Sunderland owner Kyril Louis Dreyfus.

Kyril Louis-Dreyfus became the youngest chairman in English football when he took over at Sunderland back in 2021 at the age of just 23.

The Swiss owner has since helped transform the Black Cats off the pitch, helping them finally return to the Premier League after an eight-year absence.

16 William P. Foley net worth – £2.1bn Bournemouth

Bournemouth almost feel like the minnows of the Premier League in many ways, perhaps due to the size of the Vitality Stadium, but they have an owner worth over £2bn.

William P. Foley is an American billionaire who also owns ice hockey outfit Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL, not to mention Ligue 1 side FC Lorient.

15 Evangelos Marinakis net worth – £3.3bn Nottingham Forest

Up next are Nottingham Forest and their unmissible leader Evangelous Marinakis, who certainly hasn’t played it safe when it comes to transfers, giving the Reds lots of new players since their return to the Premier League.

His net worth of over £3bn is a vast amount, and he also owns Greek giants Olympiakos.

14 Woody Johnson, David Blitzer, Josh Harris, Steve Parish net worth – £4.3bn Crystal Palace

Completing the bottom half are Crystal Palace, who have done well to become a solid Premier League team more likely to finish around mid-table than in the relegation zone, while also lifting the FA Cup title in 2025.

One of the co-owners, Josh Harris, is also the main man at NHL side New Jersey Devils and NBA outfit Philadelphia 76ers, while Steve Parish has been in his role as chairman since 2010.

13 Guo Guangchang, Liang Xinjun, Wang Qunbin (FOSUN) net worth – £4.4bn Wolves

Guo Guangchang has been a transformative figure at Wolves since becoming their owner in 2016, at a point when they were still languishing in the Championship.

Since then, they have had their ups and downs in the Premier League, but the £45m that he acquired Wanderers for pales into insignificance when comparing it to their current valuation.

12 Joe Lewis, Daniel Levy net worth – £4.5bn Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham are still fronted by Daniel Levy and Joe Lewis, with the former still very much the more prominent face of the club, even though the latter has the bigger share.

There has been frustration that managers haven’t been given enough money to spend, given the wealth of the owners, which, when you look at their fortunes, may seem fair. However, Spurs did finally end their long wait for a trophy by lifting the Europa League in 2025.

11 49ers Enterprises net worth – £5.2bn Leeds United

49ers chairman Paraag Marathe.

The 49ers Enterprises have been involved with Leeds United since 2018 but completed a majority takeover in 2023 following the club’s relegation to the Championship.

Since then, the American investment group, who have some high-profile names such as actor Will Ferrell and golfers Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth, have helped take Leeds back to the top flight.

Breaking: Sunderland agree quick-fire deal to sign exciting £20m winger

After they splashed out a club-record £30m fee to sign Habib Diarra, some may have expected Sunderland to slow their spending down. That’s far from the case, however, as new Director of Football Florent Ghisolfi and Kristjaan Speakman kick things up a notch.

Noah Sadiki: Sunderland a "huge club"

Since signing Diarra, Sunderland have also welcomed Noah Sadiki from Union Saint-Gilloise to beat Leeds United to yet another transfer target this summer. The central midfielder arrives for around £17.5m, taking the Black Cats’ summer spending to around the £50m-mark in what has been a statement-making window thus far.

After putting pen to paper, the midfielder told Sunderland’s official website: “I want to thank everyone for welcoming me to Sunderland. This is a huge Club, but what convinced me was speaking to the people.

“They spoke about the history, what they want to build, and their belief in the part that I can play. I will bring duels, forward runs, passion, and track back. Above all else, I want to win – and I carry this desire with me every time I step onto the field. This is my team now, and I’m really happy with my decision.”

Union Saint-Gilloise'sNoahSadikiin action with Rangers' Nedim Bajrami

In the middle of a busy but impressive summer, sporting director Speakman also shared his delight after welcoming Sadiki: “Noah’s enjoyed a great level of experience at a relatively young age, and alongside his drive to improve, this makes him an exciting addition to our squad.”

Gyan 2.0: Sunderland make £17m star who's "making waves" a priority target

Sunderland could find their next Asamoah Gyan by signing this striker this summer.

ByDan Emery Jul 5, 2025

Speakman and Ghisolfi aren’t done just yet, however. Even after splashing out around £50m, they look destined to spend £20m more to welcome an attacking reinforcement in a deal out of nowhere.

Sunderland agree quick-fire deal to sign Chemsdine Talbi

According to Fabrizio Romano, Sunderland have now reached an agreement to sign Chemsdine Talbi from Club Brugge and are expected to announce the arrival of the winger for €23m (£20m) plus add-ons. In another statement of intent from the Black Cats, the 20-year-old represents someone who is only set to get better with experience.

Dubbed “electric” by U23 scout Antonio Mango last season, Regis Le Bris will be signing a player who could instantly become one of the quickest to grace the Premier League – having clocked a faster time than Micky van de Ven last season.

On top of that, the winger possesses an eye for goal after netting seven in all competitions last time out and already has Champions League experience to his name. Out of Diarra, Le Fee and Sadiki, it could be Talbi who stands out as Sunderland’s signing of the summer.

Arteta's very keen: Arsenal set to make bid for £21m Real Madrid target

Arsenal are now expected to submit a bid for a Real Madrid target, with Mikel Arteta personally keen on securing his signature, according to a report.

Gunners in transfer tussle with Real Madrid

While they ultimately came up short against Paris Saint-Germain, the Gunners proved themselves to be a force to be reckoned with by dispatching of Real Madrid 5-1 on aggregate in the Champions League quarter-final last season.

As such, the Emirates Stadium should be an attractive destination for some top players this summer, with Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi thought to have chosen a move to north London ahead of remaining in Spain and signing for Xabi Alonso’s side.

Arteta is seemingly very keen to strengthen his midfield this summer, with Thomas Partey heading for the exit door, having also set his sights on Brentford’s Christian Norgaard, who has agreed to make the move across the capital.

However, Arsenal are also battling Madrid for the signature of a centre-back, namely Valencia’s Cristhian Mosquera, with a report from The Guardian revealing Arteta’s side are now hopeful of getting a deal over the line.

The Gunners boss has identified Mosquera as his main target as back-up for Gabriel and William Saliba, and the north Londoners are expected to make an improved offer for his services, having already seen a £16m bid knocked back by the Spanish side.

Zubimendi 2.0: Arsenal ready to offer £35m for "barbaric" talent

With Martín Zubimendi set to arrive, but Jorginho and Thomas Partey departing, could Arsenal make a £35m offer to sign another Spanish midfield star?

Jun 28, 2025

Personal terms aren’t expected to be an issue, so a deal could be relatively straightforward if the Premier League side are willing to increase their bid slightly, with it previously being revealed that Valencia are looking to receive a fee of just £21m.

"Dominant" Mosquera impressing in La Liga

Football scout Ben Mattinson has been left very impressed by the 21-year-old’s performances for Valencia, having praised the youngster for his ability in duels and possession of the ball.

Despite still being in the early stages of his career, the Spaniard has already cemented himself as a key player for Valencia, making 37 appearances in La Liga last season, which indicates the centre-back could make an instant impact at Arsenal.

That said, it will be very difficult to dislodge Gabriel or Saliba in the starting XI, while Jakub Kiwior also impressed in the second half of the 2024-25 campaign, playing “exceptionally well” against Real Madrid, according to Martin Keown.

As such, bringing in a new centre-back shouldn’t be a priority for Arsenal, but signing Mosquera would provide them with greater strength in depth, in order to compete on all fronts next season.

Romano: Everton now make contact to sign star who Mbappe called a "tank"

Everton have made contact over the signing of a “world-class” defender with many trophy wins to his name, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Everton eyeing Richarlison reunion

The Blues are expected to make plenty of changes to their squad in the summer transfer window, both in terms of incoming signings and current players moving on.

Richarlison is arguably among Everton’s best attacking players in the Premier League era, scoring 53 goals in 152 appearances, and the Merseysiders are reportedly interested in bringing him back to the club.

The Brazilian has struggled to consistently shine in a Tottenham shirt, with injuries certainly not helping in that respect, and Blues supporters will hope that he feels he has unfinished business with his former club.

In terms of other potential signings, ex-Manchester United midfielder Fred is seen as a good option to add to Everton’s midfield, with the Brazilian now playing for Turkish giants Fenerbahce. Grasshopper Zurich attacker Adama Bojang has also been mentioned as a target.

Better than Thierno Barry: Everton considering bid for lethal £42m striker

Everton are looking to sign a striker or two this summer

ByRoss Kilvington Jun 17, 2025 Everton make contact over signing Kyle Walker – Romano

Writing on X on Monday, Romano claimed that Everton have made contact with Manchester City legend Kyle Walker over a potential move to Merseyside this summer.

Walker will be allowed to leave City before next season gets underway, acting as an immediate boost for the Blues, and he could jump at the chance of remaining in the Premier League during the autumn of his career, with David Moyes also approving a transfer for the right-back.

At 35 years of age, there is no doubt that the England international’s best days are now likely to be behind him, but he still possesses electric pace and is a born winner, having clinched league title glory six times in his career, also winning one Champions League crown.

Walker has been among Europe’s best right-backs over the past decade, with his speed arguably making him the best possible opponent for Kylian Mbappe, who called Walker a “tank”. Pep Guardiola has also heaped praise on him in the past.

“I would say first of all [as] a footballer, [he] has a genetic [quality that] is incomparable, physicalities, something unique. After is the personality. When he talks to his mates, the people listen and now I think he is making a step as a more mature player, on and off the pitch.”

Granted, Walker is likely to demand high wages, which Everton may struggle with compared to other clubs, but if he agrees to join them, it would feel like a major coup.

The Blues could get a couple of good years out of him, with the Englishman putting his experience to good use, acting as an upgrade on Moyes’ recent right-back options, too.

Everton confident of sealing move for "fantastic" £90k-a-week Brazil star

Everton are believed to be confident of securing the signing of a “fantastic” attacking addition in an exciting piece of business in the summer transfer window.

Who are the potential ins and outs at Everton this summer?

Life feels more optimistic for the Blues currently, having once again avoided relegation from the Premier League and now preparing for life at their impressive new stadium.

A busy summer window is expected at Everton over the next couple of months, with RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa linked with a move to the club. The 20-year-old has even been described as “incredibly talented” by Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland, which can only bode well.

Antonio Nusa for Norway.

The Blues are also reportedly pushing to seal a big-money move for former Manchester United midfielder Fred, who is now plying his trade at Fenerbahce. Now 32 years of age, the Brazilian could bring huge experience to David Moyes’ midfield, but he admittedly wouldn’t represent a long-term addition.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is among the Everton players who could move on in the summer – the same applies to influential defender Jarrad Branthwaite – and Brighton striker Evan Ferguson has been mentioned as a replacement for the former, having been loaned out to West Ham last season.

Everton confident of sealing summer reunion

According to The Boot Room‘s Graeme Bailey, Everton have hope they can re-sign Richarlison from Tottenham this summer, bringing a “club legend” back to Merseyside.

The Blues reportedly want to sign two strikers ahead of next season, with Villarreal’s Thierno Barry also mentioned as an option. The likes of Brentford, Crystal Palace, Leeds United, West Ham and Wolves are all thought to be keen on him, too.

Tottenham Hotspur'sRicharlisoncelebrates after winning the Europa League Final

Seeing Richarlison back in an Everton shirt would likely go down well with a large chunk of the fanbase, considering what a popular figure he was during his stint at Goodison Park.

The Brazil star always gave his all for the Blues, scoring 53 goals in 152 appearances in total, and he has 64 goals to his name in the Premier League in his career.

Meanwhile, Calvert-Lewin spoke of his admiration for the £90,000-a-week Richarlison during their time together at Everton in the past: “I thought he was fantastic today. His goal was well deserved and his play off the ball, his selflessness was the key for us today. I thoroughly enjoyed playing with him again in front of the Goodison faithful.”

Still only 28, Everton could get several strong years out of Richarlison, who may want a new challenge after a relatively disappointing spell at Spurs. That may depend on whether new manager Thomas Frank sees him as an important part of his plans, though.
